2022 Matric results show without question that GADRA Education is leading the way in continued transformation and resurrection of Makhanda’s public schooling.  Without question, based on analysis of citywide results, the quality of schooling offered in the city, across the full range of public schools, is better now than it was a decade ago. GMS remains pivotal in this regard.

In 2022 GMS enrolled a record number of 237 students. Of these, 197 (83%) obtained Bachelor-level passes.  When one considers this statistic in conjunction with the stellar results of Makhanda’s public schools (85% pass rate; 43% Bachelor pass rate) and particularly the fact that 2 out of every 3 Bachelor passes in Makhanda was produced by a no-fee school, it becomes apparent that the city is indeed the leading educational centre in the Eastern Cape Province. The 2022 matric results clearly indicate that our bold vision of establishing Makhanda as the leading education city in the country, is not beyond the realms of possibility.
